As a member/supporter of Worcestershire CCC you may well be aware that the Club recently made alterations to the ground opening times following the instalment of the new gates on the main entrance at New Road.
The gates have been a welcome addition with significant positive feedback on the improved aesthetics at the entrance, whilst fulfilling their purpose in making the ground considerably more secure.
New opening hours were set to enable the Club to reduce staffing levels on site from up to 5 hours prior to the start of play as in previous years and to comply with regulations given the Clubs responsibility for visitors once they are on site.
However, whilst cost savings are extremely important to the future of the Club, we have taken on board members & supporters feedback.
This focused on the opening match of the season when supporters felt the gates opening at 9.30am was too late, particularly for supporters travelling from afar.
As a result a decision has been made to open the ground to members/supporters 2 hours before the start of play on all match days*
The recent sunny, dry weather means the ground is looking in fine shape and we very much look forward to seeing you on Sunday 1st May for day one of our Specsavers County Championship match against Essex CCC.
*Please note for Specsavers County Championship fixtures in September play will start at 10.30am therefore the gates will open at 8.30am.
