The battle is hotting up to qualify for the quarter-finals of the NatWest T20 Blast – but the Worcestershire Rapids still have their fate in their own hands.
They are still occupying second spot in the North Group after their five wicket defeat at home to leaders and holders Birmingham Bears who have booked their spot in the last eight.
The Rapids are a point clear of Northamptonshire Steelbacks who yesterday defeated Leicestershire Foxes in a rain-affected match.
Worcestershire have three games remaining – against eighth placed Yorkshire at Headingley tomorrow, bottom placed Derbshire at Derby on Friday and at home to fourth placed Lancashire Lightning on July 24.
The Rapids may need only one more win to ensure a top four finish and a third quarter-final in four seasons.
But they are keen to secure their first ever home quarter-final tie and to achieve that must secure a top two berth.
