Martin Guptill has been named in the New Zealand squad for three T20Is in Sri Lanka next month.
The Worcestershire Rapids player is part of a 14 strong squad officially announced by the Black Caps on the Cricket New Zealand website.
Guptill and his team-mates will be in action on September 1, September 3 and September 6 with all matches taking place in Kandy.
It will be Guptill’s first international action since being part of the New Zealand side which performed with so much credit in the ICC World Cup and narrowly lost to England in the final.
The 32-year-old has made a big impact so far in the Blast and is the Rapids leading run-scorer and tops their averages.
He has totalled 232 runs at an average of 33.40 and has a strike rate of 143.20 in helping the Rapids to second spot in the North Group.
Also part of the New Zealand squad are former Worcestershire players Colin Munro (2014 and 2015) and Mitchell Santner (2016 and 2017).
With Kane Williamson being rested, Tim Southee will captain the Kiwis in the T20I series.
