It was a proud occasion for Worcestershire Women’s Rapids spinner, Phoebe Brett, who made her England Under-19 debut today in the ICC Women’s Under-19 2025 T20 World Cup triumph over Pakistan in Johor, Malaysia.
Brett, voted the Rapids Young Player Of The Year for 2023 and 2024, delivered three tidy overs for 13 runs after coming on second change for England’s six wicket triumph.
She has followed in the footsteps of Ellie Anderson and Charis Pavely who were Women’s Rapids players when representing England in the 2023 tournament.
Brett was included in the 15 strong squad announced originally in October after a successful season for the Rapids.
She formed an effective partnership with fellow spinner Flora Bertwhistle and ended with 18 wickets from seven appearances for the Rapids, helping them to finish in top three of the ECB T20 and 50 over competitions.
England dismissed Pakistan for 66 in 18.5 overs and Brett was not required to bat as they secured a six wicket win in just 9.2 overs.
Ireland and USA will provide England’s other Group B opponents and all matches are taking place in Johor.
Last winter Brett secured a spot on the Central Sparks Academy for the first time.
