Worcestershire Rapids Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes has named a 13 strong squad for the NatWest T20 Blast derby with Birmingham Bears at New Road this evening, 5.30 start.
Rhodes has selected the 11 players in action in last weekend's double success over Notts Outlaws and Durham Jets plus Alexei Kervezee and Joe Clarke.
The match was sold out 10 days ago in what is the battle between the top two sides in the North Group in which the top four go through to the quarter-finals.
Rhodes is relishing the match with the Rapids local rivals. He said: "It will be fantastic and sadly for many people they won't be able to see it because it is a sell-out.
"Great weather is forecast and I'm sure there will be a great atmosphere.
"It will be nice to see the battle of the New Zealanders. On Warwickshire's side, you've got Jeetan Patel and Brendon McCullum, one of the best T20 players in the world.
"It will be great to see our Colin Munro, fellow New Zealander, come out on top in the game and sneak along the rails himself and take the limelight.
"McCullum is an an awesome player and on his day he can take anyone apart and we respect a person like that. Why wouldn't you with what he has achieved in the game?
"In a T20 game anything can happen and we've got a really destructive T20 player in Colin Munro. Hopefully he will also come to the party tonight."
