worcestershire rapids will be looking to return to winning ways in this evening’s vitality blast encounter with northamptonshire steelbacks at wantage road.
the rapids surged out of the blocks by triumphing in their opening four north group games before being beaten by yorkshire vikings at New Road and then durham jets at the emirates riverside last friday.
now they are aiming to reproduce the impressive form which swept aside lancashire lightning, birmingham bears, derbyshire falcons and the steelbacks in a rain-affected game at New Road two weeks ago.
head coach kevin sharp said: “northants are a dangerous side. they got 230 odd in the last game against birmingham. everyone can beat each other and you can see that in both divisions.
“you’ve got to be on the ball, you’ve got to be ready, not rest on any laurels and, man for man, you’ve got to take the responsibility and perform.
“it is a fine line in t20 cricket. you can absolutely hammer anyone one week and then get hammered, a bit like we did last friday (at durham).
“we know we are a dangerous team. we got off to a flier in the competition and then had a bit of a setback.
“but you can easily get back on the horse and win three or four on the trot again. that’s what we will be looking to do again.”
