Worcestershire Rapids First Team Coach Alex Gidman has announced a 14 strong squad for this evening’s Vitality Blast encounter with Lancashire Lightning at Emirates Old Trafford.
The Rapids will have to make one enforced change from the side which performed so impressively in last Thursday’s triumph over Notts Outlaws at Trent Bridge.
Moeen Ali is back on England duty in the current one-off Test versus Ireland at Lord’s and Brett D’Oliveira, the County’s official white ball vice-captain, will lead the side.
The Rapids will select from the other 10 players in action against the Outlaws plus Daryl Mitchell, Tom Fell, George Rhodes and Charlie Morris.
Mitchell’s next appearance in the Blast will be his 150th in T20 cricket and he will become the first Worcestershire player to achieve that milestone after making his debut in 2005 in the competition.
Fell scored a 41 ball century yesterday for the Seconds in the first of two T20 matches against Durham Seconds at Burnopfield CC.
