Adam Hose says Worcestershire new signing, Ethan Brookes, has a “brilliant mindset and mentality towards being a professional cricketer.”
Hose is aware of Brookes’ all-round capabilities from their time together as part of the Warwickshire squad.
He believes his white ball skills are ideally suited for the Rapids and having potentially more red ball opportunities at New Road will improve that aspect of his game.
Brookes is currently playing grade cricket for Prahran CC in Australia and has already scored a century and made an impact with the ball.
Hose, who is preparing to fly out to the Abu Dhabi T10 League, said: “First of all, I think he has got a brilliant mindset and mentality towards being a professional cricketer.
“He gives everything he has got on the pitch, and he is highly competitive. His white ball skill-set could be really suited to our side.
“Ethan can bowl different periods in the game, but I feel he is really beneficial with the keeper up to the stumps with the skills he possesses, the change of pace.
“With the bat he is very dangerous and can play 360 degrees around the ground, can be very explosive and he is a fantastic fielder.
“He can really add good depth to our squad in that regard.
Hose added: “With his red ball cricket, he is probably looking to bat in the middle order, with an emphasis on his batting, but also he can bowl you a few overs when required.
“He is a good addition to our squad and should give us a nice bit of depth.
“The opportunity and exposure to play in first team cricket will be a lot better at New Road, and hopefully that only improves him as a player for those experiences.”
