Play on the second day of Worcestershire's LV = County Championship clash with Hampshire at New Road will get underway at 2.15pm.
Heavy early morning rain left pools of water on the outfield with Worcestershire 175-4 from 63 overs overnight.
Umpires Neil Mallender and Martin Bodenham decided to take an early lunch at 12.30pm.
They carried out a further inspection at 1.30pm and decided play could start 45 minutes later.
Worcestershire batsman Alexei Kervezee was unbeaten on 65 – his third 50 plus score of the campaign.
The forecast is brighter for later in the day and sterling work by the groundstaff has enabled the outfield to be sufficiently fit.
Meanwhile, there was more weather frustration for Worcestershire Seconds as their 50 over friendly with Cardiff MCCU at Bromsgrove School was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
It was the sixth day in a row that the Seconds has suffered a complete wash-out.
