Worcestershire CCC are delighted to announce that their Pink Charity Day was a great success and raised more than £3,000 in support of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.
A raffle, collection and silent auction for the pink shirts worn by the players raised a grand total of £3438.55 for the charity.
Elaine Scrafton, Charity administrator, said: “We had a fantastic day and it was wonderful to be able to raise awareness of this amazing local charity.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to Worcestershire County Cricket Club for turning the ground pink and everyone who attended and supported on the day including those who kindly donated raffle prizes.
“It was brilliant to see so many people wearing pink in support of Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven and a fantastic total was raised. Thank you!”
A similar venture had been held in 2016 when Yell4Fell supported first team batsman Tom Fell and first team scorer Dawn Pugh in their battles against cancer and raised funds for various cancer charities.
