Cricketing stars of the past will be returning to New Road next week to take part in a match as part of Worcestershire CCC captain Daryl Mitchell’s benefit season.
The 30 over game will takes place on Sunday September 4 at New Road (2pm start) with a Pears Legends XI takes on local rivals Warwickshire.
The Pears team includes ex county players Roger Sillence, Richard Stemp, Dave Banks, Ben Smith, Vikram Solanki, Martin Weston, Matt Mason, Ben Scott, Gavin Haynes, Duncan Catterall, Matt Rawnsley, Gareth Andrew, Stephen Moore, Phil Newport and Graeme Cessford.
The Bears team will include Tim Ambrose, Dougie Brown, Alan Richardson, Dominic Ostler, Ashley Giles, Michael Powell, Neil Smith, Wasim Khan, Anurag Singh and Ant Botha.
In addition to The Legends Match, the final of The Canterbury Cup between Halesown and Hagley will be staged on the day with gates opening at 8am and the game kicking off at 10am.
Entry to the event is £5 for adults, £2 for children or a family ticket (2 adults and 3 children) for just £12.
