Worcestershire all-rounder Wayne Parnell will return to T20 action today – and faces the possibility of playing 10 matches in 16 days.
Parnell’s franchise, Kabul Zwanan, will take on Paktia Panthers in Sharjah their opening match in the Afghanistan T20 League.
They will play eight group matches between today (October 5) and October 18.
These will be immediately followed by the semi-finals (October 19 and 20) and the final (October 21).
Parnell, who has signed a three year contract with Worcestershire until the end of the 2021 season, will have a quickfire reunion with Luke Wright and Chris Jordan in Kabul’s opening game against Paktia Panthers.
The 29-year-old and the Rapids came out on top against Sussex Sharks – including Wright and Jordan – in the Vitality Blast final triumph at Edgbaston two and a half weeks ago.
Another Sussex player in Laurie Evans will play alongside Parnell for Kabul in addition to the likes of Rashid Khan, Luke Ronchi, Colin Ingram and Sohail Tanvir,
