OPENER TAYLOR CORNALL HITS 85 FOR SECONDS IN T20 BATTLE WITH GLAMORGAN

Taylor Cornall transferred his fine form for Worcestershire Seconds in the Championship cricket into T20 cricket during the encounter with Glamorgan Seconds at Caldicott.

Cornall, who struck two centuries in the drawn Championship game with the same opponents at Newport last week, top-scored with an excellent 85 off 64 balls.

The left hander hit 11 boundaries and put on 71 for the second wicket with Kashif Ali (24) in 9.3 overs.

Gareth Roderick made a useful 18 and Henry Cullen’s 20 not out from nine deliveries contained two sixes.

Cornall was eventually fifth out with the total 140-5 in the 18th over when he came down the wicket to Dan Douthwaite and was caught behind.

Worcestershire totalled 165-7 after being put into bat.

When Glamorgan batted, triallist George Furrer picked up two wickets and the home side stood on 80-3 in the 11th over.

But an unbroken stand of 86 in 8.1 overs between Callum Taylor (38) and Billy Root (52) saw Glamorgan to victory with eight balls to spare.
