OLIVER DAVIDSON IN FORM AS UNDER-18S LOSE 50 OVER ENCOUNTER

Worcestershire CCC Under-18 went down by 52 runs to their Nottinghamshire counterparts in a 50 over friendly at Lady Bay Sports Ground despite a fine all-rounder performance from Oliver Davidson.

Nottinghamshire elected to bat, and openers Travis Holland (55) and Ben Martindale (24) put on 77 before both fell in quick succession to Reeve Evitts.

Davidson picked up three of the next four wickets to fall as Nottinghamshire reached 170-6, including Qundeel Haider for 55.
But a half-century from George Park helped boost the final total to 273-8.

Davidson finished with 3-44 from 10 overs, Evitts 2-56 in 10, Ben Parker 1-42 in nine and Elliot Mason 1-81 in 10.

When Worcestershire replied, their first five batsmen reached double figures, but all scored between 12 and 25. No one went on to make a sizeable score.

Davidson came to the wicket at 97-6 and added 62 for the seventh wicket with Ajay Shingedria (21).

He was ninth out for 44 made off 63 balls with two sixes and six fours with the total on 166.

But the last wicket pair of Suhayl Iqbal, with a run a ball 30, and Parker (21 not out) added 55 before the former was run out with the total 221 in 45.4 overs.

Fateh Singh finished with 4-31 in 10 overs.
