Worcestershire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce the signing of Isaac Mohammed on a three-year contract.
The 17-year-old top-order batter, is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in the country, joins from the Warwickshire Academy, where he had been developing a growing reputation for his skill, maturity, and natural flair.
Isaac has also piled on the runs this season for Smethwick in the Birmingham and District Premier League, averaging in excess of 50 with a top score of 125.
A relative of Worcestershire and England legend Moeen Ali and current Pears Assistant Head Coach Kadeer Ali, Isaac brings with him a rich cricketing pedigree and a hunger to carve his own path in the professional game.
Worcestershire CEO Ashley Giles said: “Isaac is a player of enormous potential and someone we’ve been tracking closely for some time. He has all the attributes to thrive at the professional level with talent, great temperament and a genuine hunger to learn.
“It’s clear how highly regarded he was at Warwickshire, and we’re thrilled he’s chosen to join us at Visit Worcestershire New Road. He already feels like part of the family, both literally and in terms of our culture and ambition as a Club. We’re committed to supporting his journey every step of the way.”
Isaac will link up with the professional squad immediately as Worcestershire continue their focus on investing in home-grown and high-potential talent.
