WORCESTERSHIRE SIGN GEORGE DRISSELL ON SHORT-TERM LOAN

Published 14/05/2026

Worcestershire County Cricket Club can confirm the signing of Durham spinner George Drissell on a one-match loan, effective immediately.

Drissell will join the squad ahead of this week’s Rothesay County Championship clash away to Lancashire.

The off spinner, who has 35 first class wickets to his name, recorded career-best figures of 5-59 for Durham against Somerset in July last year.

The signing comes in wake of an injury to frontline spinner Fateh Singh, who injured his ankle in the lead up to the 2nd XI game on Monday.

Fateh will undergo scans to determine the length of his absence, but remains in the hands of the medical department in the meantime.

Men’s Head Coach, Alan Richardson, said: “Given the untimely injury sustained by Fateh in the week, we have had to act swiftly to acquire a spinner ahead of Friday.

“These circumstances are never ideal, but bringing someone in with George’s skillset at such short notice comes as a real boost.

“George has plenty of experience playing in first-class cricket and I am confident he will adapt quickly and settle in.”
