Rehaan returns with a bang in week three of the Birmingham and District Premier League

Published 11/05/2026

The BDPCL entered its third round of league action on Saturday, in another entertaining weekend that saw a host of Worcestershire stars turn out for their local sides.

Barnt Green tasted defeat for the first time this season as they went down by 106 runs to Knowle and Dorridge.

Chasing 208 to win, there was a rare blip for Henry Cullen, who made six as his side were dismissed for 101.

Rehaan Edavalath was in the runs for Barnards Green in their 36-run win over Kenilworth Wardens on Saturday, in a match that saw youngster Jeet Varaich back in the wickets.

Worcestershire’s top-order batter made a cultured 65 from 66 balls opening the batting, as his side compiled 285-4, before Varaich followed up with excellent figures of 3-50 as he took the new ball in style to help bowl the Wardens out for 249.

Halesowen secured a six-wicket win over Shrewsbury, chasing down 284 with nine balls to spare, where Pathway product Joe Porter opened the batting but was unable to get going as he made one.

Isaac Mohammed’s excellent start to the year with highflyers Smethwick continued on Saturday, with his side racing to a nine-wicket win over Himley.

Batting first, Himely could only muster 155 all-out, before Isaac slammed a 22-ball-38 from the top of the order to set his team on their way to a comfortable nine-wicket win.

Lucian Brockman took the new ball for Himley but was unable to force a breakthrough in his sharp five over spell.
