The Worcestershire Rapids charge for a Vitality T20 Blast knockout place sees the side travel to Cardiff on Sunday, where two teams level on points go head to head in a crucial group stage clash.
Neck and neck on 20 points apiece heading into tomorrow’s fixture, the Rapids will be oozing confidence after a record breaking win over Kent at New Road on Friday night.

After bowling Kent out for the lowest total ever recorded by a Worcestershire team since T20 cricket began, the Rapids will be looking to spinner Usama Mir to continue his red-hot form that has seen him collect 14 wickets at an average of 20.
One notable absentee will be his partner in crime and influential all-rounder Sikandar Raza, who played his final game for the Club on Friday after being recalled to the Zimbabwe national side earlier than anticipated.
Close eyes will be kept on the fitness on seamer Adam Finch, who is a possible deputy, but with the news earlier this week that Beyers Swanepoel and Dan Lategan have both been registered for the remainder of the tournament, Alan Richardson has options at his disposal.
Elsewhere, keep an eye out for Ben Allison, who’s figures of 2-9 against the Spitfires were his season best, indicating his return to somewhere near his best form at just the right time for the Rapids.
Inside The Camp
Worcestershire young gun Isaac Mohammed is keen to return to his best ahead of Sunday’s crunch group stage meeting with Glamorgan after a “frustrating” Vitality T20 Blast campaign at the top of the order.
Into his second season with the Club, the 18-year-old has shown glimpses of his best across the Central and West group but is eager to hit his straps as the tournament reaches the business end.
Averaging just over 20 in 2026, the talented left-hander recorded a career-best T20 score in the Blast opener against Leicestershire Foxes back in May and has made plenty of starts without kicking on to what he calls a “match-winning” innings.
Desperate to remind everyone what he is capable of, the England U19 prodigy is itching to show his skills at Sophia Gardens on Sunday.
“It would be pretty cool to be able to show what I can do against Glamorgan. We know they are a good side, but I am just focusing on my game, and I know I am not far away from that big innings.
“As a batter in T20 cricket, you want to be the one who starts fast and gets the boys off to a good start, and I know my game is suited to that because I have had a few quick starts.
“Of course, things change quickly, and teams target you in the power play, and you have to be able to change plans and stuff, but I try not to overthink it and back myself.
“I talk a lot to Kads and Richo and some of the senior boys. I know my role and what I can do, so on Sunday it would be nice to make a good score and set us up, whether we are chasing or setting a total.”
There is no overestimating the importance of Sunday’s meeting, with the two teams chasing a knockout place locked on 20 points, only separated by net run-rate.
Worcestershire have fond memories of the last time the sides met, when the Rapids recorded a 27-run victory over their Welsh counterparts at New Road back in June.
Although the visitors have not quite entered “mathematical must-win” territory just yet, with just three matches remaining in the group, a win would significantly boost Worcestershire’s chances of qualification for the knockout stages given their opponents on Sunday have a game in hand.
Despite the importance of the fixture against Glamorgan in the context of the group being well documented, Isaac says his side won’t be looking any further ahead than 3:30pm on Sunday afternoon.
“I think we are all just focused on Sunday, to be honest. We know they are a good side and have already beaten some really good teams in this tournament, so we need to be at our best.
“Also, we aren’t a group that thinks too much about other stuff; all the leaders just keep us focused on what we are doing and sticking to our plans as best we can.
“The senior guys keep us on track, like Hosey and Dolly are so good and have done it for a while now, we just stick to our guns really.
“It should be pretty cool, going to a new stadium in front of a big crowd in a big game.”

Not only desperate to edge ahead of their rivals on Sunday afternoon in the Central and West group table, the Cardiff-based side will be keen to avenge their 27-run defeat to the Rapids at New Road back at the start of June.
A composed chase of 185 saw Glammy ease to victory over the lowly Bears on Friday, with a confident batting display seeing them to victory in the penultimate over.
Central to that win, and a key figure throughout the T2o campaign, was middle order maestro Sean Dickson
Seeing his side over the line with a clinical 24 from 11 balls, the Blast veteran continued his excellent tournament that has seen him score 235 runs at an average of 47, enhancing his reputation as one of the most dangerous finishers in the competition.
