All-Rounder Ethan Brookes pens new long-term deal at Worcestershire
Worcestershire County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that all-rounder Ethan Brookes has signed a new three-year deal contract extension, keeping him at the club until at least 2028.
Since joining from Warwickshire in 2023, Brookes, has established himself as a first-team regular across all formats, playing a pivotal role with both the bat and ball during that time.
The exciting 24-year-old has shone particularly during the early parts of this season, with some notable batting contributions across the Rothesay County Championship fixtures, recording a high-score of 88 in that time.
His excellent form has carried over into the Vitality Blast, where his canny wicket-taking ability and outstanding fielding skillset have played a key part to the Rapids success thus far.
When asked on what it meant to re-sign with the Club, Brookes, said he was delighted to continue his cricketing journey at Visit Worcestershire New Road.
“I am so happy to be staying put at Worcestershire. I have made so many memories with the lads already, but I am so excited at the thought of challenging for some silverware with this group.
“With how everything has gone over the last couple of seasons on a personal level, I just want to keep developing and hopefully I can contribute to this squad being successful.
“It feels like home here now and my drive to get better is bigger than ever. Staying at Worcestershire was an easy decision for me.”
Having risen through the ranks of the squad this season, the all-rounder has become a pivotal member of the first eleven.
Men’s Head Coach, Alan Richardson, said the re-signing of Brookes is a big step in the right direction for everyone involved.
“Re-signing Ethan is an important step in the process of where our Club wants to go moving forward.
“He has been central to the success we have experienced so far this season and it was clear we wanted to secure his services on a long-term basis.
“It was paramount for us to secure his services, as we were aware there would be interest in a player of his quality.
“His personality makes him a key part of the group, in an environment where we are trying to produce young cricketers, he has a very bright future ahead of him.”
