Worcestershire young gun Lucian Brockman has today been named in an Invitational England U19’s squad to face South Africa later this month.
The Invitational squad will face off against a formal England U19’s side on Friday 26th June, before playing South Africa A on Saturday 27th June.
The Academy star has seen his impressive recent form rewarded, returning from injury in style at the start of 2026, playing a leading role for Worcestershire’s 2nd XI and the Academy.
The seam bowler received England recognition during the winter but was unable to join up with England after suffering a stress reaction.
A member of the Worcestershire Academy since the age of 15, Brockman has been a member of the Pathway from the outset.
The 16-year-old has caught the eye after developing his skills as a genuine fast bowler, with Senior Academy Coach Elliot Wilson praising the Old Swindford Hospital School product.
“We are all delighted to see Lucian receive this recognition, it is also recognition of the pathway and people who have supported his development.
“From Old Swinford Hospital School, Pedmore and Himley Cricket Clubs, through to family and the staff here at New Road, it is fantastic to see a player progress to the next level.
“Having been called up last winter and then unfortunately missing out through injury, it is particularly pleasing to see Lucian earn another opportunity.
“He is an exciting cricketer to watch, and we all hope he embraces this platform to show people who he is and what he is all about.
“The work that Stuart Bull and Adam Taylor have done with him since October has been first-class, and he arrives in this environment in a really strong position.”
