New Worcestershire signing Tom Hinley will be hoping for more trophy glory when he again plays for the National Counties XI who will be representing England in the Dream 11 T10 European Cricket Championships next month.
The spinner, who has signed a rookie contract for the 2025 season at Visit Worcestershire New Road, is part of the squad for the 32-team tournament in Malaga, Spain.
Hinley, who has plays National Counties cricket for Oxfordshire, picked up 13 wickets for the Rapids in the 2024 Metro Bank One Day Cup.
He played a starring role in the final of the 2023 T10 tournament.
Hinley smashed 71 not out from 24 balls with eight sixes to help England triumph over the Netherlands and gain revenge for defeat by the same opponents in the 2022 final.
The competition got underway in late September but England, as holders, are exempt to the Championship week from October 15 when they will take on the winners of Groups A, B, C and D.
Eight members of the National Counties squad who won the title last year will be returning to defend the title.
Hinley, who is studying for a Sports Science degree at Loughborough University, initially impressed for Worcestershire Seconds in T20 cricket when on trial this summer.
He was then promoted to the senior squad for the One Day Cup, and picked up five wickets in the home win over Durham.
Hinley formed a formidable partnership during the middle overs of opponents innings with fellow spinner Fateh Singh who was on loan from Nottinghamshire.
Sam Keeling-Wright, who has played for Worcestershire Seconds this summer, is also included in the squad.
