New Worcestershire signing, Rob Jones, has been praised by Metro Bank One Day Cup captain, Jake Libby, for his performances in the 50 over competition.
Jones, on loan from Lancashire for the One Day Cup before starting a three year contract at New Road this winter, played a major part in the Rapids reaching their second white ball quarter-final of the summer.
He scored his maiden century for the Rapids in the win over Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Wantage Road plus two other fifties.
Jones finished as the Rapids second highest run scorer in the 2023 tournament with 366 at an average of 45.75.
Libby said: “It was a bonus having Rob for this competition and he has shown us a snippet of what he can do.
“Look, he is a quality player, coming from Lancashire, and he is going to have every opportunity here to perform.
“From what we have seen so far, he is going to be a really good player for us.
“It’s a great signing for us and I think we’ve had a few good signings.
“We’ve lost a few players but, with what we’ve brought in, and Jonesy has shown that, we’ve got some really encouraging signs going forward.”
