Worcestershire Members and Supporters can look forward to another slice of international cricket at New Road this summer, with England Under-19s in action against Sri Lanka Under-19s in two 19ODIs during September.
The England Under-19s have become a regular part of the fixture list at New Road in recent years, and they will face Sri Lanka on September 5 and September 8 in the first two of three 19ODIs.
It follows on from last week’s announcement that England Women will take on South Africa Women in a Vitality IT20 Series encounter at New Road on July 23.
Worcestershire hosted an England Under-19s Test match against India in 2017, and two years later, New Road was the venue for the Tri-Nation Under-19 Tournament.
It was an opportunity to see Worcestershire batsman Jack Haynes in action against India and Bangladesh shortly before making his first class debut for Worcestershire against Australia.
Worcestershire’s 18-year-old spinner, Josh Baker, could also be in contention to play for the Under-19s on his home ground.
He was selected for the five-match series in Colombo in November-December and then a travelling reserve for the ICC Under-19 World Cup in the West Indies.
