We might only be in early February but plans for Worcestershire Supporters' Association's 2018 calendar are already well advanced – and will include some new features.
The 2017 edition was a quickfire sell-out with its pictures portraying New Road during the various seasons of the year and action shots.
But one innvovation for 2018 will be a list of each month's birthdays (and deaths) of the 500 Worcestershire players who have participated in the County Championship since 1899.
West Indies paceman Miguel Cummins had the honour of being the 500th player to represent the County in the competition last summer.
All 500 are featured that is EXCEPT the seven players Andrew Thomas was unable to obtain details of when researching 'Pears 150'.
They are number 1 – WH Wilkes (1866?); 23 – WH Hill; 42 – H Wilson (1873?); 78 – JG Higginson (Jan 1885?); 85 – PJ Morris; 94 – W Baker; 172 – H Williams.
If anyone has information on the players above please contact Andrew Thomas via letter at Worcs CCC, New Road, Worcester.
The most popular date for Worcestershire cricketers being born is November 24 with seven including Sir Ian Botham.
It is hoped to have the new calendar on sale in the Supporters' Association Shop – currently situated at the back of the Basil D'Oliveira Stand – by mid season.
