The new book on former Worcestershire captain Don Kenyon – 'Don Kenyon – His Own Man' will be officially launched in September.
The author, Tim Jones, will be available to sign copies in the Graeme Hick Pavilion on September 22 – the first day of the final LV = County Championship match of the season against Middlesex.
He is a well known and popular figure at New Road as chairman of the Worcestershire Heritage Group and a member of the Worcestershire Board.
Opening batsman Kenyon remains Worcestershire's record run-scorer with 37,002 and skippered the county to their 1964 and 1965 County Championship triumphs.
But the book also gives an absorbing insight into the personality of Kenyon – as the title indicates. It costs £15 – plus an extra £2 for postage – and consists of 260 pages and 55,000 words.
Anyone unable to attend the book launch, can contact Jones to order a copy via email at timajones405@aol.com or drop him a text on 07890138682.
Jones said: "The book launch will be a chance for people to come along and purchase a copy and meet me.
"We have quite a few advanced orders and that's just by mentioning it around the ground. It's been a really good response.
"I am inviting all those people who have expressed an interest, those people who have helped or provided information or articles or who were interviewed by me."
