New Book On Foster Brothers To Be Published In New Year

A new book on the seven Foster brothers who played for Worcestershire is set to be published early in the New Year.

Former Worcestershire Cricket Society committee member Anthony Collis – who is also secretary of the Stourbridge Cricket Society – is the author of this publication.

It is entitled ‘Fostershire – The Story Of A Great Malvern Family.’

The seven all played for the County in the pre World War One era which is fondly known as the Golden Age.

RE ‘Tip’ Foster remains the other man to have captained England at both football and cricket and still holds the world record for scoring 287 on his Test debut against Australia in Sydney.

But the other six brothers – HK, WL, BS, GN, MK and NJA Foster – also have interesting tales which will be recollected in Anthony’s publication.

It is available to subscribers at a pre-publication price of £15 (plus £2 postage and packaging)*.

To order, send details with your cheque, for the amount of £15* or £17, payable to AD Collis, to 34a Chawn Hill, Stourbridge DY9 7JB

*Books sold at £15 only if collected at local Cricket Society evenings held at either Worcester, Stourbridge or Edgbaston.
