Moeen Ali will have a different position in the England batting order for the third Ashes Test starting at the WACA in Perth tomorrow (Thursday).
The Worcestershire all-rounder was moved up the order to bat at number six at the start of the series.
He made 38 and 40 in Brisbane and 25 in Adelaide before making two after coming in one place lower in the second innings after Chris Woakes was employed as a nightwatchman.
Now Moeen will switch to the number seven berth with wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow moving up one place to the number six berth.
The 30-year-old Moeen has been dismissed in all four of his knocks in the Ashes by one of Worcestershire’s 2017 players in spinner Nathan Lyon.
England have named an unchanged side as they look to bounce back from a 2-0 deficit.
Craig Overton was handed his first cap in the first Test in Adelaide and the Somerset seamer retains his place in the side.
