MOEEN RETURNING HOME TO REST AT CONCLUSION OF ODI SERIES IN CARRIBEAN

Moeen Ali is returning home from England’s tour of the West Indies at the conclusion of the current ODI Series.

The Worcestershire all-rounder will rest up after the fifth ODI which is being staged in St. Lucia on March 2.

Moeen had originally also been named in the squad announced last week for the three T20Is in the Caribbean.

But the place of the 31-year-old will be taken in that series by Surrey’s Sam Curran.

Moeen has again undertaken a hectic winter, playing a key part in England’s whitewash of Sri Lanka before Christmas.

He also played in all three Tests against the West Indies, finishing as England’s leading wicket-taker, and the opening two ODIS before yesterday’s wash-out of the third game in the series.

Moeen will now rest ahead of an exciting and hectic period of cricket.

He is first due to enjoy a second stint in the IPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore from later next month.

It will be followed by the ICC World Cup and the battle for the Ashes against Australia.
