Moeen Ali picked up two key wickets as England sealed the ODI Series against Sri Lanka with an 18 run victory via the Duckworth-Lewis Method in Kandy.
The Worcestershire all-rounder dismissed two of the Sri Lankan top three in captain Dinesh Chandimal and wicket-keeper-opener Niroshan Dickwella.
Moeen ended with figures of 10-0-55-2 as Sri Lanka totalled 273-7 in their 50 overs but England were ahead of the required run rate at 132-2 from 27 overs when rain once again intervened.
It enabled them to achieve a 3-0 winning lead with one ODI remaining.
Moeen came into the attack at the end of the first powerplay with Sri Lanka 44-1 and bowled his 10 overs in one spell.
He struck in his fifth over when Chandimal (33) was drawn forward and bowled by a ball which spun through the gap and hit off stump.
Moeen enjoyed a second success when Dickwella (52) was trapped lbw and unsuccessfully reviewed the decision.
A third victim should have been claimed by Moeen when Dhananjaya de Silva came down the wicket and missed his first ball only for Jos Buttler to miss the stumping chance.
