After a summer of Test cricket with England, Moeen Ali can now look forward to a winter of solely List A cricket as part of the build-up to the 2015 World Cup opener in Australia.
The Worcestershire all-rounder has played in all seven Test matches against Sri Lanka (two) and India (five).
But the forthcoming series with India will be the start of at least 16 ODIs for England during the next five months before the World Cup gets underway in February.
Moeen will be returning to 50 over cricket for the first time since his senior breakthrough with England last winter when he had scores of 44, 10 and 55 at a strike rate of 81.34 in the three match series in the West Indies – plus a wicket in each game with his off-spin.
He did not play in the ODIs against Sri Lanka prior to the Test series in May but is part of the squad which will play five matches against India.
England then have seven ODIs in Sri Lanka in November-December and then take on Australia and India in a triangular tournament Down Under in January February which will involve at least four ODIs – with the top two contesting the final.
The World Cup then gets underway for England against Australia in Melbourne on February 14.
Moeen is the least capped of the batsman chosen to play againat India with the exception of Alex Hales who had a loan spell at Worcestershire earlier in the season.

August 25 – Bristol, August 27 – Swalec Stadium, August 30 – Trent Bridge, September 2 – Edgbaston, September 5 – Headingley. T20, September 7 – Edgbaston.
SRI LANKA ODI SERIES
November 26 – Colombo, November 29 – Colombo, December 3 – Hambantota, December 6 – Colombo, December 10 – Pallekele, December 13 – Pallekele, December 16 – Colombo.
TRI-NATION SERIES
January 18 – Sydney (v Australia), January 20 Brisbane (v India), January 23 – Hobart (v Australia), January 30 – Perth (v India). Ferbruary 1 – Perth (final).
