Moeen Ali will now switch from Test cricket to white ball mode for the remainder of November with nine matches – including two warm-up games – in the space of 22 days.
The Worcestershire all-rounder is part of the England squad which will play four One Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals against Pakistan.
The two warm-up games and opening two ODIs will take place in Abu Dhabi – home for Worcestershire's pre-season tour in March.
Dubai and Sharjah will also host three and two matches respectively.
Moeen and his team-mates will have to get used to playing under lights with all four ODIs being day-night games and the three T20Is also being played in the evening.
England will then fly home on December 1 for a short break before reconvening for the Test series in South Africa which starts on Boxing Day.
