Skipper Daryl Mitchell says Worcestershire Rapids can triumph in their Royal London One-Day quarter-final with Somerset at Taunton – if they produce their 'A' game.
The Rapids have shown their capabilities in the competition in winning away to Yorkshire, Durham and Nottinghamshire and at home to Lancashire – all sides with Test match grounds.
Now they have to overcome the South Group winners to reach the semi-finals for the first time since the competition was rebranded in 2014.
Mitchell said: "It is a massive game. Having not performed particularly well in 50 over cricket in recent years, it is a big opportunity to make a statement.
"Getting through the group was a really good effort. There are some really good sides in the North Group and it is a huge game and a big challenge down at Taunton, that's for sure.
"They have played some really good 50 over cricket. Taunton is generally a high scoring ground, very small straight, one end in particular.
"Looking at results, it looks as if it has spun quite a bit in both four day cricket and the 50 over stuff so we have to mindful of that.
"But it is a quarter-final, a one-off game, and is all about turning up and performing well on the day and if we play to the best of our ability, we will have a great chance of winning that game and going through.
"We back ourselves against anyone on our day. If we perform like we can do, then we can beat anyone.
"It's all about getting right on the Wednesday and putting in a good performance. If we can put our 'A' game together, we can beat anyone. We've got some real talent in this squad with bat and ball."
