Worcestershire opener Daryl Mitchell returned to action for the first time after aggravating his hamstring 11 days ago and hit 94 not out as Brockhampton overcame Kenilworth Wardens by 10 wickets in a Birmingham League Premier Division fixture.
The 33-year-old struck four sixes and nine fours in his 74 ball knock as bottom of the table Brockhampton overhauled a 139 target with 20.4 overs to spare.
Mitchell’s opening partner, Andy Bullock, was undefeated on 43 and victory gave Brockhampton a life-line in their bid to avoid relegation.
Brockhampton are now only five points adrift of Kidderminster who were thrashed by 156 runs against champions Berkswell for whom Worcestershire all-rounder Alex Hepburn enjoyed a fine match.
Hepburn hit 105 not out from 110 balls with one six and 12 fours as Berkswell amassed 327-6 and then returned 2-24 from six overs as Kidderminster were bowled out for 171.
Brett D’Oliveira’s quickfire 61 helped Ombersley overcome Shrewsbury – and County team-mates Ed Barnard and Ollie Westbury – by five wickets with one ball to spare.
Westbury made 42 off 56 balls and Barnard 39 off 46 before he was dismissed by D’Oliveira as Shrewsbury totalled 286-8.
D’Oliveira’s 55 ball knock plus 50 off 85 from Josh Dell propelled Ombersley towards their target. Ben Cox, who had earlier made two stumpings, contributed 13.
Tom Fell top-scored with 44 out of 134 for Wolverhampton but they were edged out by one wicket by West Bromwich Dartmouth.
In Division One, George Rhodes hit 40 off 47 deliveries as Barnards Green amassed 301-5 and then picked up one wicket as Bromsgrove replied with 228-9.

Jack Shantry also did well with bat and ball in a winning cause for Wellington. He finished with 10-1-39-3 as Moseley were bowled out for 196 and made an undefeated 37 to see his side to a four wicket success.
Joe Clarke was out for three but Tamworth totalled 301-3 and defeated Walmley by 90 runs.
