The Reverend Mike Vockins has agreed to become Worcestershire Cricket Society’s interim chairman while Bill Tansell continues his recovery from a stroke.
Mike, a former Worcestershire CCC Secretary-CEO of 30 years outstanding service, is already the Society’s President.
He has agreed to step in to temporarily fill the gap left by Bill’s illness.
Mike will also be taking the chair to ask the questions of the Society’s guest speakers during their winter cricket evenings when his many commitments allow.
It is a role Mike filled admirably for many years during Worcestershire CCC’s popular winter cricket evenings.
He conducted the interview with former Leicestershire player and Test umpire Barry Dudleston earlier this month in the Graeme Hick Pavilion.
Everyone wishes Bill – a well known figure in local cricketing circles – a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at New Road and lending his much appreciated input into the Cricket Society sooner rather than later.
