Mitchell McClenaghan has been included in New Zealand's squad for the World Cup – and could be set for a showdown with his one-time Worcestershire team-mate Moeen Ali.
The paceman, who played at New Road during the second half of last season, is part of the Black Caps final 15 for the tournament being staged in his own country and Australia.
New Zealand and England are both in the same group along with Australia, Scotland, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
The Kiwis and England, with Moeen part of the squad, are scheduled to meet on February 20 in Welington.
McClenaghan has been in fine recent form for Auckland and picked up 11 wickets in three 50 over games prior to the squad being announced.
He also impressed during the 2013 ICC Trophy in England with 11 wickets in three matches – including three against England.
The 28-year-old replaced Saeed Ajmal as overseas player at Worcestershire last July and finished as the county's leading wicket-taker in the Royal London One-Day Cup with 10 in six games.
McClenaghan did not enjoy the same sort of success in red ball cricket with the county after a promising start in the win over Gloucestershire at Cheltenham.
But he earned praise after completing the promotion-winning victory over Surrey following the death of his father being announced on the first day before flying back home.
All-rounder Grant Elliott has been recalled to the New Zealand squad, having not played an ODI since November 2013.
Jimmy Neesham is the most high-profile omission in a squad that is rich in all-round resources and, apart from Elliott, the 15 includes Daniel Vettori, Corey Anderson and Nathan McCullum.
