Matt Mason admitted it had been a "tough day at the office" for the Worcestershire bowlers as Gamorgan launched a powerful recovery with the bat on day two of the Specsavers County Championship clash at New Road.
Josh Tongue claimed one more wicket to register career best figures of 6-97 and skipper Joe Leach returned 4-85.
But Glamorgan, who had resumed on 76-6, obtained a lead of 114 in reaching 381 all out as the Worcestershire bowlers found it a hard slog in comparision to the clutter of wickets of day one.
Micharl Hogan then dismissed opener Daryl Mitchell for 18 as Worcestershire closed on 34-1.
Assistant coach Mason said: "It was a tough day at the office for the bowlers from a position of what we thought was a lot of strength last night.
"We were buoyant this morning when we turned up thinking we could hopefully finish them off pretty quickly and enjoy alead.
"But they played some very good cricket on a pitch that was always improving.
"We did create a few chances this morning without any luck and then I thought the innings from those two guys (Jacques Rudolph and Chris Cooke) was fantastic.
"Glamorgan played well all day and everyone who came in got a start and carried on. They built two big partnerships and now they've put us under a bit of pressure.
"All in all, a tough day for the bowlers."
Mason added: "I think if we are being honest, and the bowlers would agree, they could have done more in partnership with each other.
"There was some good stuff in amongst some not so good stuff so a little bit inconsistent. It looked like when Josh (Tongue) and Leachy were bowling in tandem for while that they looked a little more threatening.
"I think young Ed Barnard found today a little bit touch at times as did Shants and Nathan (Lyon) bowled a lot of overs without success so it wasn't very easy for the bowlers on that wicket.
"There wasn't much in it for them at all. I think without being too critical about the lads, because obviously they tried and tried as they always do, so from that point of view I was still proud of their efforts today."
Tongue had to battle for his solitary success today after creating mayhem in the Glamorgan ranks on day one.
Mason said: "I said to him when he came off you 'will have many more days like that one!' They don't always come easy these wickets, you've got to work very hard.
"But it is great learning and you've got to remember too that Barny is only 21 so he's still learning. It's a lot to put on these young lads.
"In a four-man attack, you've got two very inexperienced lads there who are learning their cricket so these sort of experiences, although they are not the greatest at the time, they will look back on them and hopefully learn plenty from them."
Worcestershire will resume 80 runs in arrears and Mason admitted: "We are going to have to bat very well.
"It is a good pitch. If you put the ball in the right areas, particularly with the new ball, there is a threat there.
"But if we can get that ball 30-40 overs old, as they showed once you get in you can score…and we are going to have to score quite heavily to put them under some pressure going into that last day.
"That will be the plan tomorrow – bat well, and bat as long as we can.
"We've got a couple of guys who are in great form with the bat and a couple who are missing out.
"It is a great opportunity for them to get out there and put their hands up and put in a big performance.
"What sort of target? It is pretty hard to say because we are seeing big totals being scored here on the last day. Last year there were scores of 300 and 400 upwards scored.
"First and foremost, get through the first hour, get through the first session and we will look at it piece by piece as the day goes on and assess later in the day."
