Bowling coach Matt Mason has been encouraged by the winter progress of Charlie Morris and is optimistic Worcestershire CCC supporters "can expect to see the Charlie Morris of old" this summer.
Morris picked up 96 County Championship wickets in his first two seasons of county cricket but did not make the same impact in 2016 as he worked tirelessly on remodelling his action.
The paceman has spent the last four months playing grade cricket abroad and Mason says the signs have been encouraging after a string of consistent performances.
Mason, who is also the County's assistant coach, said: "Consistency this winter is a great word and that's what Charlie didn't have last season for us.
"It is great for him. I've spoken to him regularly. He is really happy and bowlng at a good pace again and hitting good areas.
"He sounds like he is in a great place and people here can expect to see Charlie of old when he gets back which is great news."
Mason paid tribute to Morris's work ethic and determination.
He said: "Charlie went through a really tough period when he had to remodel his action and that is never easy.
"A lot of people don't do it successfully but because he worked so hard he got there in the end but obviously his performances were affected.
"One of the reasons we sent him away this winter was to get away from this enviroment, get away from the coaches and just go out and find his love of the game again and get back to somewhere near his best and it sounds like it has done the trick."
