Worcestershire Cricket is proud to announce Malvern Active as a new partner and supporter of its T20 team, Worcestershire Women’s Rapids.
The year of 2017 is set to be a landmark one for women’s cricket, with the U.K hosting the Women’s World Cup, whilst Worcestershire welcomes the launch of women’s softball.
Malvern Active will be sponsoring the back of the Women’s Rapids playing shirts and will complement existing main sponsor, Heart of Worcestershire College.
The highlights of this season’s campaign will be a double header at New Road on Sunday August 13 against Nottinghamshire as well as the T20 festival on July 2 at Kidderminster.
The T20 festival will see Rapids up against Nottinghamshire and Hampshire who includes former England captain, Charlotte Edwards.
Tom Hill, Cricket Development Director, Worcestershire Cricket, said, “We’re really pleased to have another local organisation in Malvern Active coming forward to support the women.
"With the T20 double header coming up in August and the Women’s Rapids having real ambition to play in T20 Division One next year, it should culminate in a very exciting summer.”
Rob Young, Operations Manager, Malvern Active, said, “With England and Wales hosting the 2017 Woman’s World Cup, it is a hugely exciting and important year for women’s cricket.
"As such, Malvern Active is delighted to be supporting the Women’s Rapids team for the upcoming season.
"As a sporting facility, we’re always looking to provide opportunities to grow and encourage participation in sport at every level.”
