Worcestershire opener Jake Libby has climbed into the top six run-scorers in Division Two of the LV=Insurance County Championship for 2023 after his latest half century in the drawn game with Yorkshire at New Road.
Libby topped the 700-run mark for the campaign in just his seventh Championship match after being unavailable for two games whilst nursing a back spasm.
The 30-year-old has hit two centuries and three fifties and has accumulated 701 runs at an average of 58.41 this summer.
His opening partner, Gareth Roderick, also achieved a personal milestone during the second innings against the Tykes when scoring an unbeaten 34.
The keeper-batter went past 6,000 first class runs in his career when on 26.
Roderick has amassed 6008 runs with Gloucestershire and Worcestershire at an average of 35.13.
He has batted everywhere in the order for Worcestershire between one and seven and is the club’s second highest run-scorer this summer behind Libby with 492.
All-rounder Joe Leach remains in the top three of wicket-takers in Division Two despite the rare sight of him not adding to that tally against Yorkshire.
Leach has picked up 34 wickets in nine games at an average of 29.35.
