Leading Blast Wicket-Taker Brown Is Rapids Best Placed Player In Pca Mvp Rankings

Pat Brown’s splendid efforts with the ball means he is Worcestershire Rapids highest placed player in the PCA Most Valuable Player Rankings for the Vitality Blast.

Brown has ended the group stages in the T20 competition as the leading wicket-taker in the country with 27 victims.

His haul is five more than nearest challenger, Durham’s Nathan Rimmington.

It has earned Brown, who celebrates his 20th birthday on Thursday, 121.40 points in the PCA rankings at an average of 9.34 per game and placed him in 18th position.

Moeen Ali (30th) – 105.78 points at 17.63 – and Joe Clarke (39th) – 100.12 points at 8.35 – are the other Rapids players in the top 50.

In terms of the wicket charts for the Blast, Brown’s 27 scalps have come in 13 games at an average of 13.25.

Rimmington has achieved his tally in the same number of games at 17.68 runs apiece.

The PCA MVP Rankings system identifies the match-winners and key influencers of matches throughout the domestic season.

The formula takes into account conditions, quality of opposition, captaincy and strike-rates as well as runs scored and wickets taken.
