Joe Leach helped North Canberra Gungahlin secure a high-scoring draw with Worcestershire team-mate Ed Barnard's side Queanbeyan District on the second day of the Australian Capital Territory first grade match.
Barnard has scored a superb century on the opening day as Queanbeyan amassed 414-8 in 95.1 overs.
Leach had returned the respectable figures of 2-74 from 20 overs and he also played an important role with the bat.
The Northies were in trouble at 24-3 but Leach scored 63 – his third half century of the winter – to lead a fightback.
It was another impressive performance by Leach who is second in the ACT wicket-taking charts and sixth in the run-scoring lists for the 2014-2015 campaign.
His side eventually closed on 374-6 from 97 overs with honours just about even between the two sides.
Barnard followed up his first 100 for Queanbeyan by fininishing with figures of 2-43 from 17 overs after coming on first change.
The England Under-19 player had gone to the wicket on the opening day with his side 79-3 and when he was finally dismissed the score stood on 328-6.
Barnard shared in a fourth wicket stand of 144 with L. Shivakkumar (90) before Leach broke the stand with the total on 223.
He was eventually dismissed for a splendid 105 made off 148 balls in just three hours after hitting one six and nine fours.
The Worcestershire duo will now enjoy a break from cricket for Christmas before returning to action early in the New Year.
