Matthew Lamb struck 88 for Worcestershire Academy (Under-18s) in a 50 over friendly against a Herefordshire Development X1 at Brockhampton CC.
Opener Lamb hit three sixes and nine fours in his 107 ball innings after Worcestershire had opted to bat.
He put on 41 for the first wicket with Luke Powell and 42 for the second with Ciaran Baker-Smith before being fourth out at 146.
Joshua Leach (23), Frankie Ingram (17) and Charlie Egerton (14) made useful contributions to a total of 219-5 from 50 overs.
Imaad Mahmood (10-0-37-3) and Ollie Halion (9-2-24-2) were the most successful Herefordshire bowlers.
In reply, Herefordshire reached 104-1, thanks to Alex Hinkley (44) and Harry Socket (40) but Haris Ajaz (10-0-43-2) and Baker-Smith (7-1-26-2) brought Worcestershire back into the game.
The outcome was in the balance at 157-6 but Mahmood (49 not out) and Olly Davidson (30 not out) added an unbroken 63 to see Herefordshire to 220-6 in 44.4 overs.
Fahad Saeed (5-0-8-1) and Leach (5-0-25-1) were the other wicket-takers.
