Tom Kohler-Cadmore signed off with a half century for Penrith Panthers to help put them in a strong position on day one of the Sydney Grade Cricket first grade match away to Sutherland.
The Worcestershire batsman scored exactly 50 in his last game for the Panthers before flying back to New Road to prepare for the pre-season trip to Abu Dhabi.
Kohler-Cadmore again dropped down the order to number four to help Penrith bed in a new opening partnership for after he has departed the club.
The former Malvern College pupil came to the wicket at 116-2 after Penrith had elected to bat on winning the toss.
Kohler-Cadmore added 79 for the third wicket with M. Hopkins (75) before he was third out at 195 after facing just 59 balls and striking one six and eight fours.
Penrith then lost a steady stream of wickets and were 273-8 at one stage but late order runs from M. Halse (39) and R. Smith (37) lifted their final total to 342 in 97.2 overs.
Kohler-Cadmore also had time to play a crucial part in the field before stumps.
He held onto a catch to dismiss his former Yorkshire Under-15 team-mate – and current Tykes player – Jack Leaning for a single after he had opened as Sutherland reached 15-1.
The match will be concluded tomorrow (Sunday) with Penrith looking for at least first innings points to bolster their title challenge.
