Skipper Tom Kohler-Cadmore celebrated his 21st birthday by achieving his highest score for Worcestershire Seconds in the abandoned one-day friendly with North Staffs-South Cheshire League X1 at Stone today.
Kohler-Cadmore smashed 158 off 105 balls with five sixes and 20 fours – a total of 110 in boundaries.
It was his third century of the summer for the Seconds after 104 against Cardiff University at Bromsgrove School and his previous best of 153 against Yorkshire Seconds at Barnt Green.
Kohler-Cadmore brought up his half century off 19 balls and his century off 42 deliveries before actually slowing down as conditions became relatively harder for the batsman as the sun was replaced by cloud cover.
He shared in an opening stand of 156 in just 14 overs with Richard Oliver who made 42 from 38 balls before he was run out by former Worcestershire paceman Imran Arif's throw from mid on after calling Kohler-Cadmore for a quick single.
Alexei Kervezee (5) and Alex Hepburn (15), fresh from two encouraging performances in the Royal London One-Day Cup, were both bowled by Matt Goodwin.
Kohler-Cadmore eventually fell in the same fashion to Matt Coxon, fourth out at 264.
George Rhodes (49 not out) and Will Fraine (55 not out) then added an unbroken 76, with the latter doing the bulk of the scoring, before rain forced the players off at 3.15pm and the game was abandoned 45 minutes later.
