Josh Haynes hit an unbeaten century as Worcestershire Academy romped to an eight wicket victory over North Staff-South Cheshire League Under-25s in a 50 over clash at Audley.
Haynes celebrated being selected for the Super Fours at Loughborough from August 23-27 by making 101 not out as the Academy achieved their 213 target with 4.5 overs to spare.
He shared in stands of 67 for the second wicket with Jack Haynes (33) and an unbroken 130 in 26 overs with Ollie Westbury (41) for the third wicket.
The Academy put the home side into bat and an unbeaten 97 from L. Allison off 103 balls helped them reach 212-4 in their 50 overs.
The Academy spinners bowled tightly with Dan Lloyd returning 2-25 from his 10 overs and Josh Haynes 0-35 from his full spell.
Josh Haynes will be making his second Super Fours appearance while Westbury today signed his first professional contract with the County.
