Worcestershire Supporters’ Association chairman Andrew Jenkins has thanked its members for their “magnificent support” – which in turn helps the Association to fund projects which benefit Worcestershire CCC.
Jenkins addressed nearly 100 members and their guests at the Association’s New Year Lunch held in the Graeme Hick Pavilion.
The Association has 800 plus members and life members and their fees and support of the Fifty-Fifty draws each summer are crucial for raising finances to aid the County in various ways.
Jenkins said: “I would like to thank members for their support which helped us to fund projects last season – and every season.
“In 2018 we financed a new Association club shop in between the Hick Pavilion and Foley’s, a new upgraded Marquee, a new tractor for the ground-staff and aided with the funds for a new kitchen under the Ladies Pavilion.
“Everyone wants to do as much as possible to help Worcestershire CCC and thanks to all Association members for their contributions towards these projects including the new shop which was a tremendous success.”
Membership fees for 2019 remain unaltered at £5 while life memberships – depending on age – range from £25 to £80.
The entrance fee for the Fifty-Fifty Draw, under the stewardship of committee member Dave Kennedy, also remains the same at £20 and there will again be four draws in 2019 with prizes ranging from £50 to £250.
Jenkins said: “We had fantastic support for the Fifty-Fifty in 2018 with 670 members and we are hoping to surpass that this summer.”
Worcestershire CCC president Norman Gifford was a guest of Association president Cynthia Crawford at the lunch, the quality of which received plenty of compliments.
