Worcestershire Academy batsman Jack Haynes has been chosen to captain the English Schools Cricket Association Under-16 squad for the tour of Sri Lanka next Spring.
And there is also a call-up for Worcestershire Satellite Academy all-rounder Xavier Clarke – the younger brother of the County's wickety-keeper-batsman Joe Clarke.
The duo have been chosen after being selected for the 'Best Of Bunburys' match at Loughborough which was a reward for their performances as part of the Midlands side in the main Under-15s Bunbury Festival at Radley College.
Haynes captained the Bunburys in 2015 as an Under-14 player and earned a second call-up for this summer's festival when the Midlands won the T20 competition.
He plays club cricket for Ombersley and has been a member of the County's 2015-2016 Academy intake.
Leg-spinner-top order batsman Clarke (Oswestry CC) is part of the satellite academy in Shropshire under the guidance of former Worcestershire paceman Paul Pridgeon.
The tour of Sri Lanka will get underway on March 23 2017 and runs through to April 2.
Meanwhile, Worcestershire Academy coach Elliot Wilson will announce the 2016-2017 Academy intake during the next few days.
