Worcestershire CCC Academy (Under-18s) open their ECB County Championship campaign tomorrow (Tuesday) against Northamptonshire at Kidderminster (11am start).
Opening batter Ismael Mohammed will captain the Academy for the opening game in the six-team Group Two.
He takes over as skipper from Joe Stanley who is playing for Shropshire – along with Jack Home and Ben Parker – in their National Counties Western Division Two encounter with Cornwall at St. Austell.
It is a hectic period as Worcestershire will play five games by the start of September in the three-day competition.
Cricket Wales, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Warwickshire will provide the other opposition.
