Worcestershire Cricket Society will stage their final cricket evening of their winter programme this evening (Tuesday) in the Graeme Hick Pavilion with the visit of Isabelle Duncan (7.30 start).
Isabelle is the author of the book 'Skirting The Boundary' – a history of women's cricket.
The women's game is set to receive unprecedented TV coverage this summer with Sky Sports showing the Ashes Series which includes a One-Day International at New Road on July 26.
But Isabelle's book goes into detail dating back to the late 18th century when ladies first made their mark on the game of cricket amid frantic betting and rowdy crowds.
This excellent publication also highlights the highs and lows of the 19th and 20th centuries before culminating in the success of the current stars of the game.
'Skirting the Boundary' is a humorous, charming portrayal of one of the fastest-growing global sports.
The Society have held six cricket evenings this winter encompassing various guests and topics and they will resume next October.
Non-society members are welcome to attend this evening for an admission fee of £3.
*A reminder that Worcestershire Cricket Society have finalised the date for their 2015 Annual General Meeting.
The AGM will be staged on Tuesday, May 19 in the 1865 Suite at New Road, beginning at 7.30pm.
