Myles Holland and Harry Darley helped Worcestershire Academy to collect maximum bowling points on the opening day of the ECB Under-18 County Championship encounter with Somerset at Taunton Vale.
Holland finished with figures of 10-0-39-4 and Darley 13.4-3-50-3 as Somerset were bowled out for 268 in 86.4 overs after opting to bat.
Darley struck with the second ball of the match and then two wickets from Holland helped reduce the home side to 75-4.
But Aman Rao (93) spearheaded a partial recovery by Somerset until Academy captain, Joe Stanley, trapped Seb Linnitt lbw to end a stand of 55.
Rao added a further 108 for the sixth wicket with Max Horton (58) before Holland and Darley wrapped up the innings as the last four wickets fell for eight runs.
Stanley ended with 13-5-39-1, Cameron Jones 11-0-53-1 and Gohar Nisar 10-2-27-1.
Worcestershire made a challenging start to their reply with Ismael Mohammed and Olly Cox both dismissed for nought without a run on the board.
But Rehaan Edavalath and Jack Home saw their side through to the close without any further setbacks at 20-2.
